Today an article on Wired showed up that illustrates the need for public debate to grow on radio frequency identification (RFID). This technology has been around for a while now. There's a whole journal dedicated to it. It's important that people understand the freedoms it destroys and the type of security that it brings. In particular, there needs to be an indication of when information is collected, how it is used and how it is secured (and we all know that very little (if anything?) is absolutely secure).
I suggest that anybody that is concerned (or wondering what the big deal is) read "RFID Position Statement of Consumer Privacy and Civil Liberties Organizations".
